Atletico Madrid are closing in on a transfer swoop for Chelsea star Conor Gallagher.
Los Rojiblancos are focusing on fresh midfield options for the 2024/25 season and Gallagher is a key target.
Despite a rumoured disagreement over the options available, with Diego Simeone reportedly preferring Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino, a move for Gallagher looks to be on.
Atletico’s desire to get a deal completed quickly is also a key factor in him edging ahead of Merino on the road to Madrid.

The latest update claims Chelsea are demanding around €40m, with Gallagher out of contract at Stamford Bridge in 2025, and Atletico currently only offering half of that figure.
A fresh report from Teamtalk.com claims Atletico Madrid are confident of getting a deal done, with Chelsea moving in a different direction, and Gallagher encouraged to make the move by England teammate Kieran Trippier.
Atletico are prepared to offer a compromise package in the region of €30m in the coming days.
