Atlético Madrid have contacted Barcelona regarding the transfer of Memphis Depay, reports Fabrizio Romano.
As communicated earlier, Chelsea and Los Colchoneros have agreed a loan deal worth €11m until the end of the season for João Félix.
With the imminent departure of the Portuguese forward, Atlético Madrid are in the market for a new striker. Previously it was reported that Diego Simeone’s side were keen on signing Borja Iglesias, but the club are not willing to meeting Real Betis’ €40m price tag.
Thus, Atlético Madrid have set their eyes on Memphis Depay, who has been struggling for minutes under Xavi at the Nou Camp in the last couple of months.
According to the Italian journalist, negotiations are set to take place between the two parties this week.
Depay has only made four appearances for Barcelona so far this season in all competitions, scoring one goal in La Liga.
