Atlético Madrid and Wolverhampton Wanders are close to arriving at an agreement that will see Matheus Cunha move to the Premier League, report Marca.
Despite having a promising start to his career in a red and white shirt last season, the 23-year-old has been struggling for game time at the Estadio Metropolitano this past autumn.
His lack of form meant he missed out on the chance of being called up to the 2022 World Cup for Brazil by Tite. It is believed that Los Colchoneros and Wolves will reach an agreement over the transfer of Matheus Cunha in the next couple of days, meaning that the Brazilian forward could join the club in January.
Wolves are currently at the bottom of the Premier League table and the signing of Cunha could be key to helping the club avoid relegation.
Wolves were also interested in signing Felipe from Atlético Madrid, but it appears as though negotiations have broken down between the English side and the player.
