The ongoing fallout stemming from Athletic Club star Nico Williams’ decision to reject La Liga rivals Barcelona has on Friday continued.

This comes amid the widespread conclusion that the Basque outfit have made use of the opportunity to poke fun at their counterparts at the Camp Nou.

Wide-man Nico is of course fresh off dealing Barcelona a heavy transfer blow.

Just weeks on from agreeing to the terms of a contract with the Blaugrana, the 22-year-old pulled the rug out from underneath Deco and co, by penning a new long-term deal with Athletic Club:

This marks the second summer in a row in which Nico has left Barcelona red-faced in pursuit of his signature.

And as alluded to above, on Friday, the winger’s current employers were evidently keen to rub this fact in the faces of the Blaugrana.

Shortly after Nico’s renewal was made official, Athletic took to social media to unveil a fresh post.
