Atalanta name asking price for Man United target Giorgio Scalvini

The powers that be at Atalanta have made it known how much will be required to pry defensive stalwart Giorgio Scalvini away from the club this month.

That’s according to Alfredo Pedulla, who has on Wednesday provided an update on the future of the Italian international.

Scalvini has of course long taken his place centre stage in the football headlines in Italy. This comes amid interest on the part of a host of Serie A’s top clubs in his signature.

Recent days, though, have seen the 20-year-old instead hotly tipped for a move away from his home country, to Manchester United.

The Old Trafford brass are understood to be keen admirers of Scalvini’s talents, hopeful of beating out the competition to strike a deal for his services with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign.

An insight into precisely that has come to the fore this evening, with the aforementioned Alfredo Pedulla pointing towards a €60 million price-tag as having been slapped on the head of the stopper.

Atalanta, for their part, are under no pressure to part with Scalvini, therefore keen to keep hold of a player whose current contract runs all the way through the summer of 2028.

A big-money offer, though, could yet twist the arm of the Bergamo outfit, who are also on good terms with Man United, after sending Rasmus Højlund to Old Trafford in a deal which could ultimately reach over €80 million this past summer.
