Serie A side Atalanta have now etched new history, as they comfortably managed to go past Marseille in the semi-final of the Europa League.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s La Dea are in the final of the Europa League and they picked up a dominant 3-0 win over Marseille, who rolled over surprisingly easily. Goals from Ademola Lookman, Matteo Ruggeri and El Bilal Toure made sure that Atalanta set up a huge Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen.
Having said that, Atalanta created history as this will be their first ever European final and they had actually never played in a European semi-final before either, which shows how far Gasperini has brought the club in the modern era.
More than that, La Dea are still very much in with a chance to win a double. They are in the Coppa Italia final, where they take on Juventus and they also have every chance of finishing inside the top five in the Serie A.
