Atlético Madrid star Julián Alvarez has late this week spoken out once more on the ongoing speculation linking him with a move to La Liga rivals Barcelona.
Speaking during an interview with French outlet L’Équipe, the Argentine was drawn on the possibility of joining one of the Blaugrana, or Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain.
And though Alvarez was keen to make clear that he remains focused on matters at the Metropolitano, he also hinted that the situation could be reassessed next summer:
“Barcelona or PSG links? Honestly, I don’t know. I see what people say on social media. In Spain, people speak a lot about me and Barcelona. I am focused on Atlético and we will review at the end of the season.”
Links with Barcelona of course come with the Camp Nou brass on the lookout for a long-term replacement for the aging Robert Lewandowski.
Alvarez is understood to be considered the perfect profile of striker, but his likely considerable price-tag would no doubt prove a hindrance for a Blaugrana outfit strapped for cash at present.
