Joao Felix has been training with Atletico Madrid since last week, having been unable to secure a move away before the end of his time off. He’s still expected to move away before the summer transfer window closes, but for now, he must be patient.
Atletico Madrid also do not want Felix to stay, but they won’t give him away easily. At the moment, no loan offers are being considered – the only way that a departure happens is if he is bought for a fee in the region of €60m.
Barcelona are not considering a move to re-sign Felix at this stage, as they have other priorities. Benfica have been trying to negotiate with Atleti, while Aston Villa are also keen. In the case of the Premier League side, they are in no rush to make their move, as Relevo say that they are aware that time is on their side.
For now, Aston Villa will monitor Felix’s situation closely, as they wait for Atletico Madrid to relax their demands. Once that happens, they’re expected to pounce quickly, as they’ve already received approval from Jorge Mendes, Felix’s agent, to make their move.
