Aston Villa target Denzel Dumfries would be a “huge signing” for the Villans, claims journalist Pete O’Rourke.
There has been some talk about the Midlands club being interested in the Inter Milan defender, and O’Rourke thinks he would be a major coup for them given some of the other sides he has been linked to.

Aston Villa transfer news – Denzel Dumfries
According to Inter Live, Villa could enter the fray to sign Dumfries at any moment.
The outlet states that the right-back is already admired by the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, and it now appears that the Villans have also joined his fan club.
Dumfries is not going to be cheap, though, with Inter ready to demand serious money if anyone comes knocking.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reported earlier this month that €60m (around £53m) is what is needed just to get the Italian giants around the negotiating table.
What has Pete O’Rourke said about Denzel Dumfries and Aston Villa?
O’Rourke thinks Villa signing Dumfries would be massive considering the links to United and Chelsea.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, the journalist said: “It would be a huge signing, Denzel Dumfries. Some top clubs across Europe have been linked with the Netherlands international. Manchester United and Chelsea have both been linked with him.”

Would Denzel Dumfries be a coup for Aston Villa?
Yes. He is quite a high-profile player and is attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
He starred for the Netherlands in the World Cup, helping his nation to reach the quarter-final stage of the tournament.
In five games, the 26-year-old scored one goal and registered two assists, showing his attacking threat as a wing-back. He also made 1.4 interceptions per match, which was the third-highest average in Louis van Gaal’s squad (via WhoScored).
You would have to question if he can perform just as good in a back four and in a team with less quality than both the Netherlands and Inter like Villa. Nevertheless, Dumfries is an exciting target to have.
With all of that being said, spending £53m on a defender would be some investment, while the former PSV Eindhoven star’s preference is probably to join a side competing in Europe. Therefore, it would be a surprise if he ended up moving to Villa Park.
If Unai Emery can convince him to join, though, he has the potential to be an incredible signing for Villa.
