AS Monaco have already made their first signing of the January transfer window, securing the arrival of Wout Faes on loan from Leicester City. However, speaking at a press conference attended by Get French Football News, the Principality club’s CEO, Thiago Scuro, said that business may not be finished quite yet.
“The central defender became a priority after (Mohammed) Salisu’s injury (ACL). We are having discussions about other positions, too. We still have to find solutions like [Faes], who can come in and have an impact, can be at Monaco’s level, and that are achievable, given Monaco’s financial conditions. We can bring more [players] in this winter, but it depends on the conditions and the criteria,” began Scuro.
Monaco are looking for players further up the pitch, after Takumi Minamino also suffered an ACL injury last month. “[His] injury puts more attention on the attacking positions. We are checking profiles that can come and make an impact and raise the level,” added Scuro.
