Arsenal Show Keen Interest In This Man City Full-back

From recent reports, football.london believes that Arsenal are eyeing a move for Manchester City full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko in this off-season.

It has also been mentioned that they could lure him to their side by offering a place in their starting XI which the Ukrainian defender should find appealing.

Zinchenko’s Impressive Numbers In The Mancunian Outfit This Season

Zinchenko has experienced a solid campaign at the Etihad club despite failing to secure a regular position in Pep Guardiola’s starting XI. The Ukraine international has contributed to six goals by setting up his teammates with assists over 30 appearances this season across all competitions.

He has made the most out of his appearances, often coming off the bench, averaging 1.3 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, 0.7 clearances, 0.8 shots, 1.1 key passes and 0.4 dribbles per game in the Premier League. However, Zinchenko has been impressive with distributing the ball after making 90.7% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).

Should Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta Bring Him To Emirates Stadium Ahead Of The Next Season?

Zinchenko can use his quickness to make some decent runs with the ball down the left flank. The Ukrainian sensation has proven to be a good defender at the back with consistent impressive displays. He can even chip in by creating opportunities in the final third with his vision and excellent distribution of the ball.

Zinchenko is primarily a left-back but is versatile enough to fill in as a left-sided wide player or as a defensive midfielder if needed. Thus, he would be a terrific signing for the Gunners this summer, considering European League football in the mix.

He will undoubtedly enhance the quality of Mikel Arteta’s starting XI. At 25, he is currently in his prime, so he can play at a high level right from the outset which makes him a good fit for the North London club. All in all, a player of Zinchenko’s calibre and experience would be a brilliant option for the club during this summer transfer window.
