Arsenal have reached an agreement with Riccardo Calafiori

According to Sports Zone, Arsenal have reached an agreement with Riccardo Calafiori (22) with the Bologna centre-back looking increasingly likely to join the club this summer.

The French outlet reports that the player had also reached an agreement in May to join Juventus where he would have had an immediate reunion with his former head coach Thiago Motta, however, Bologna were unwilling to sell their star to another Italian side and would prefer for him to go abroad.

As was reported earlier, Mikel Arteta’s team have presented a convincing project for a player who had won plaudits for both club and country, with the Italian being one of the few bright sparks for Gli Azzurri in an otherwise disappointing Euros campaign.

Chelsea remain in the race for Riccardo Calafiori

Sports Zone have further noted that Chelsea remain in the race for the highly-rated defender, while Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Paris Saint-Germain and Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in trying to convince Calafiori of their projects.
