According to Sky Germany, Arsenal are ahead of Bayern Munich in the race to sign Declan Rice.
The West Ham United and England star is just coming off the back of winning the Europa Conference league. During post-match interviews, the 24-year-old kept his cards close to his chest but all signs point to him leaving the Hammers this summer.
Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel had an initial conversation with the number six which reportedly went very well. Rice is said to have stated that he could even imagine moving to Germany. After such conversations, Bayern were willing to submit an offer for the 24-year-old.
However, there has been no movement since such conversations. Bayern are in contact with Rice’s advisors but they are currently no closer to submitting an official offer.
Arsenal, who are on the verge of off-loading Granit Xhaka to Bayer Leverkusen, are now reportedly ahead in the race.
Expect there to be a few more twists and turns when it comes to the Declan Rice transfer saga this summer.
