Arsenal ace contacts Gabriel Jesus over transfer and boost delivered in Serge Gnabry race

Arsenal are set for another busy summer as Mikel Arteta looks to upgrade his squad once again. Last summer saw over £140 million spent on a host of new arrivals and a similar pattern could be seen this time around.

With European football returning to the Emirates, Arteta is eager to improve the strength in depth of his squad. While his current starting XI impress, beyond many of the first-choice stars there is little in the way of support, which will only be exposed more when playing twice a week regularly.

A number of high profile players have been linked with moves to Arsenal already and it could well be an exciting transfer window for the fans. With that in mind, football.london takes a look at the latest rumours emerging from north London.

Gabriel Jesus talks

One of the biggest name on Arsenal’s shopping list is Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian worked with Mikel Arteta at Manchester City and compatriot Gabriel Magalhaes has confirmed he has spoken to Jesus about moving to the Emirates.

“We joke around in the dressing room, but there’s nothing certain,” Gabriel told a press conference this week. “Of course, he’s a quality player and if he goes to Arsenal, he would help us a lot.”

Serge Gnabry boost

Arsenal are in the market for a number of new attackers this summer, one of whom has already played for the club. Serge Gnabry has gone from strength-to-strength since moving to Germany and now Arteta is looking into the possibility of bringing him home.

The Gunners may have been handed a boost in their pursuit of the German international after reported Bayern transfer target Sadio Mane hinted that he could be leaving Liverpool after the Reds lost the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday night.

Brendan Rodgers on Youri Tielemans future

Midfield is another area that Arteta is eager to strengthen and one player who has been on his radar for a while is Leicester’s Youri Tielemans. The Belgian has been consistently impressive with the Foxes and football.london have taken a look at the past comments of Brendan Rodgers on what might happen next.

Prior to their 2-0 defeat to Arsenal in March he told reporters: “He’s got a big choice to make at some point, Youri, but as I’ve repetitively said, we’ve no concern with his mentality, we’d love him to stay, we want him to stay, he’s been a massive part of my time here.”
