Serie A giants Napoli lost 1-0 to Lazio earlier today in what was a close game which was decided by a late Gustav Isaksen strike.
The Dane was set up beautifully by Tijjani Noslin, who came off the bench to hold up and set his teammate through on the right, as Isaksen found the top corner perfectly.
The game meant that Atalanta are at the top of the table and Napoli go down to second, with Lazio climbing up after the defeat to Parma last weekend.
Conte, who is usually critical after losses, spoke to DAZN about the game. He revealed that he isn’t disappointed and the side is working on the process.
He said, as relayed by TMW: “Today’s match also showed that we are on the right path, our idea is to attack the opponent to stop them from playing the game and create situations to hurt us. We need to improve in this respect, we get there but the final step is missing. We are working on it, I am not disappointed with the performance, the lads gave their all, playing a good game against an excellent team.”
Further, the Italian said: “Lazio are not a flash in the pan, they are doing very well. I am not disappointed or dissatisfied, there are some stumbles along this path, there will probably be others, this is the team I want to see but we need to be more qualitative in the final meters.”
The Partenopei have three relatively easy games coming up, as they take on Udinese, Genoa and Venezia, having already lost to Atalanta.
Inter have a game in hand and are only three points behind La Dea but they take on Fiorentina, who are tied on points with the Nerazzurri.
