Andrea Belotti has rejected a summer transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers as the forward wishes to join Roma as soon as possible.
According to Il Messaggero, Wolves made an offer consisting of an annual salary of €3.5 million per season, which the attacker has rejected, stating the reason that he intends to continue his career in Italy.
Earlier this summer, Major League Soccer side Toronto FC also attempted to lure Belotti away from Italy. But the former Torino striker was determined to play for an Italian club, subsequently rebuffing the opportunity to join hands with Lorenzo Insigne in a new league.
Since leaving Torino following his contract expiration, the player has failed to complete his coveted transfer to an Italian club.
Roma have emerged as a serious candidate to sign Belotti on a free transfer. Several claims have also suggested that the striker has agreed to a three-year contract with the Giallorossi.
Jose Mourinho’s side will reportedly get the deal for Belotti over the line as soon as Eldor Shomurodov leaves for Bologna.
