Ruben Amorim has confirmed that André Onana will return in goal for Manchester United when they face Olympique Lyonnais on Thursday night at Old Trafford.
Onana has been error-prone for Manchester United this season and was at fault for Lyon’s opener in last week’s 2-2 draw in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League quarter-final. Following that performance, the Cameroonian goalkeeper was dropped against Newcastle United at the weekend with Altay Bayindir taking his place between the sticks. However, he didn’t cover himself in glory as the Red Devils lost 4-1.
Having not even been part of the squad that lost to Newcastle on Sunday, Onana is set to re-take his place in the starting line-up against Lyon, as confirmed by Amorim in his pre-match press conference. The Manchester United manager also confirmed that after sustaining a hamstring injury over the weekend, Joshua Zirkzee with not only miss the game against OL, he will also miss the rest of the season.
