Amos Pieper will remain with Werder Bremen beyond this season, the club confirmed via social media post.
The 27-year-old German centre-back has extended his contract, which was due to expire next summer.
Back in early October, speculation over Pieper’s future at the Bundesliga side started to swirl amid rumours of an exit.
As is customary, the club did not disclose the length of the contract or any further details regarding the deal.
Pieper moved from Arminia Bielefeld to Werder Bremen in 2022 and has been a regular starter under Horst Steffen this season.
“Amos has played a significant role in our defensive stability over the past few weeks,” said coach Steffen.
“I see him as a true team player who wants to improve every day in training, is eager to learn, and wants to develop further.”
