As reported by Sky Germany, Alphonso Davies is edging closer to signing a new contract extension with Bayern Munich.
For a long time, it had looked like the 24-year-old Canadian would not sign an extension agreement and instead leave as a free agent next summer when his current deal expires.
Premier League club Manchester United had been monitoring the wing-backs situation and are now aware that Davies is likely to stay at Bayern.
It’s likely that the Red Devils will turn their attention elsewhere including RB Leipzig’s David Raum.
Negotiations between Bayern and Davies are positive but still ongoing. The focus is for the player to sign a new long-term contract with key financial figures already being discussed.
Further talks will take place over the winter break as it’s not yet a done deal.
However, the signs are now much more positive for Bayern as they look set to keep the youngster.
