According to a report from Le Parisien, Allan Saint-Maximin (28) is set for a return to France after he left Club America by mutual consent.
The former Newcastle United player announced on his Instagram that he had chosen to leave the Mexican side after his children had been targeted with racial abuse. Club America confirmed the reasoning and issued a statement of support for the player and his family.
Saint-Maximin is on the verge of joining up with RC Lens, who have been attentive to the market this winter as they find themselves unexpectedly deep within the race for UEFA Champions League football.
