Aleix García hasn’t played as much for Bayer Leverkusen as he would have liked following his summer move from Girona, where he was a key player and captain.
So far, García has made 15 appearances for Bayer, starting eight times.
“Of course it’s not enough for me. I come from Girona, I played every game there,” Garcia told Bild.
“It is difficult for me to to only play once after a few games on the bench. It’s the coach’s decision. It’s a difficult moment for me, but I’ll fight for more games.”
Competing with Granit Xhaka, Exequiel Palacios and Robert Andrich for one of two central midfield places, Garcia is doing everything he can to convince Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso that he deserves to play more.
“He is clear with me. I think he has more confidence in the players from last season – and I accept that. It’s normal. I have to work and adapt. I think I’m doing a good job, but of course I have to keep going.”
