Saudi 1st division side Al-Hilal are hoping to this weekend complete an immense transfer double swoop by signing two players from PSG: Neymar and Italian international midfielder Marco Verratti.
Verratti, who was prevented by the club from playing some final minutes at the Parc des Princes on Saturday night in a 0-0 draw with FC Lorient, despite specifically requesting to, after he was left out of the 1st team squad, appears poised to conclude a move to Al-Hilal in the coming days.
The player has had a provisional contract agreement in place for a move to the Saudi club for a couple of months, at the initiative of Rafaela Pimenta, his agent, who has been vociferously pushing for the move.
As reported by TF1, Sports Zone and confirmed by sources contacted by Get French Football News, Al-Hilal are expected to submit a third formal bid to PSG for the player in the coming hours. Their first two offers, situated at around €30m and then just under €40m, were rejected out of hand by Les Parisiens, who have always maintained that Verratti’s market value is situated at €80m.
Al-Hilal are hopeful that an offer of €50m plus some incentives will be enough to get PSG to accept their proposal. Barring a last minute u-turn from Verratti and/or his family, the deal looks set to be completed in the coming days.
