According to Sports Zone, Manchester City have reached an agreement with Al-Hilal to sell João Cancelo (30). The Portuguese international full-back is now one step away from joining the Saudi Pro League club after an agreement has been reached between the two respective clubs.
Cancelo is not a part of Pep Guardiola’s plans at the Etihad Stadium and has most recently spent last season on loan at Barcelona. The 30-year-old would prefer to move back to Catalonia instead of moving to Saudi Arabia. However, Barça’s financial difficulties mean a move for the City defender is not a priority and he is now close to moving to the Middle East.
As a result of Cancelo’s desire to join Barcelona, the right-back has been stalling in negotiations with Al-Hilal. Negotiations are now progressing well and the defender is nearing closer to agreeing personal terms with the Saudi club. The former Inter defender could be set to earn $18m in the Gulf state.
