Ajax reject a second bid from West Ham for Mohammed Kudus

Ajax have rebuffed West Ham United’s advances for midfielder Mohammed Kudus again, according to talkSPORT.

West Ham’s second bid of £34 million for the Ghana international has been met with the same rejection as the first.

West Ham’s interest in Kudus stems from manager David Moyes’ quest to bolster his midfield and attacking options. 

Despite the Hammers returning with a more substantial second offer, the Dutch giants remain unwavering in their stance.

Ajax are holding out for a guaranteed £40m for a player who is attracting plenty of interest this summer. 

Brighton & Hove Albion had previously made inroads to secure Kudus’ services and had an offer accepted earlier this month. 

However, the player is not sold on the prospect of joining the Seagulls.

The 23-year-old has started the new Eredivisie season on fire, bagging a goal and an assist in just two appearances. 

Despite initially struggling to secure a regular spot in the starting XI upon his arrival in Amsterdam, he has become an indispensable part of the squad.

Last season was undoubtedly a breakout year for Kudus. He contributed 11 goals and three assists in 30 league appearances. 

His prowess extended to the grand stage of the Champions League, where he notched four goals and two assists in six appearances. His performances made the footballing world sit up and take notice.

Kudus’ international exploits have also caught the eye, as he delivered commanding performances for Ghana at the 2022 World Cup. He netted twice for his nation. 

His performances sparked interest from Premier League powerhouses Arsenal and Chelsea, but West Ham now lead the race.
