Newcastle United are one of the clubs who have held talks with Radu Dragusin, as per his agent Florin Manea, over a potential future move.
The Genoa defender’s agent was in London recently and he has revealed that he has spoken to clubs like Newcastle, Arsenal and Tottenham.
Manea says that he has been in touch with these Premier League clubs on a weakly basis and exchanged messages, adding they’re “getting closer” to a move in the future.
The 21-year-old moved to Genoa on loan from Juventus last season and has made the move permanent during the summer transfer window.
He is a regular starter in the Serie A and has made 12 appearances so far, managing one goal and an assist so far.
“I have been in London for quite some time and I have almost weekly meetings with important teams,” said Manea, as quoted by Fanatik.
“We’re getting closer and closer. I talked to Newcastle, Arsenal, Tottenham. I also have messages with them, conversation.”
Depth needed
Newcastle are badly struggling with injuries at the moment and Eddie Howe would love to add one or two players in the winter transfer market.
Their plans for the season have taken a big blow after Sandro Tonali has been banned for the rest of the campaign. The Magpies probably will look to sign a new midfielder in January.
In defence, the injury to Sven Botman is a major worry for Howe, but they can still cope with the resources they have.
The club need to bolster their forward department as they are missing several key players in that position. Dragusin looks a solid player, and it looks like the Magpies are heavily involved in getting his signature.
