Timo Werner’s comeback to RB Leipzig is becoming a real possibility, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Werner has been looking for a move away from Premier League side Chelsea in order to get regular playing time ahead of this year’s World Cup.
A move back to Leipzig is a possibility for the forward. More so after Italian side Juventus registered their interest in the Germany international but don’t have the funds to pull off a transfer.
It’s looking more and more likely that if Werner wants to move away from London this summer, Leipzig is the most likely destination. Per the report, a loan deal is an avenue that Leipzig could explore.
Werner had his most successful spell during his time at Leipzig. In 158 competitive games for the Saxons, he scored 93 goals and provided 40 assists. A return to the Bundesliga this year will see him play more regularly and team up with French forward Christopher Nkunku.
