As reported by Fabrizio Romano, former Barcelona player Martin Braithwaite could be set for a bargain summer transfer away from Espanyol. The 32-year-old has two individual release clauses in his contract, which means he could leave at a discounted price.
Braithwaite decided to leave Barca to resurrect his career, moving across the city to Espanyol. He has impressed the Spanish second division and is the top scorer in the league with 20 goals to his name.
Previously, the forward had a €6m release clause in his contract, but this is no longer active. However, should Espanyol get promoted, Braithwaite would be able to leave the club as a free agent in July.
On the other hand, if the club is not promoted to La Liga, he can leave the club for as little as €600k. The Danish international joined Espanyol from Barca in 2022, after a disappointing spell at the Spanish giants.
