Liverpool could be without defender and captain Virgil Van Dijk for Sunday’s Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur.
That’s according to German manager Jurgen Klopp, who has confirmed the Dutch talisman has missed first-team training this week due to injury.
Speaking to reporters ahead of Sunday’s clash at Anfield, Klopp, as relayed by journalist David Lynch, has revealed Van Dijk is ‘a doubt’ and may not be able to feature.

Van Dijk’s suspected absence would undoubtedly serve as a blow to Liverpool, who, despite still being mathematically able to win the title, have all-but conceded the race to Arsenal and Manchester City.
Nevertheless, with Klopp now preparing for his final three games in charge before he departs Anfield, the Reds’ stars will be desperate to give the 56-year-old the send off he deserves.
For Van Dijk, with his manager admitting he is just ‘a doubt’, there will be hope the centre-back can play again this season, even if Sunday’s game against Ange Postecoglou’s out-of-form Lilywhites comes too soon for him.
