Ian Maatsen has commented on the possibility of joining Borussia Dortmund permanently from Chelsea.
Since his loan move from Chelsea in January, Ian Maatsen has made a significant impact at Borussia Dortmund
The Black and Yellows would like to keep the Dutch left-back, but it’s currently unclear what will happen beyond the summer.
“I don’t yet know what will happen in the summer. There will certainly be several options. What I can say is that I feel very comfortable in Dortmund and really enjoy being at BVB,” Maatsen told Ruhr Nachrichten.
The 22-year-old felt welcome from the first minute.
“As soon as I had my first training session with the boys, I felt this special connection. Everyone gave me a very warm welcome and I immediately had a good connection with the staff.”
Reports suggest Dortmund holds an option to secure Maatsen permanently for €40 million. Nevertheless, given financial constraints, the Bundesliga outfit will most likely try to push the price down.
