Bayern close to signing Mathys Tel

Bayern München are expected to wrap up a deal to sign 17-year-old Rennes wonderkid Mathys Tel in the near future.

Several sources claim Bayern München are on the verge of sealing a deal to sign Rennes youngster Mathys Tel.


According to Italian transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano, Bayern have agreed personal terms with the 17-year-old, with talks between the clubs in the final stages.

Rennes coach Bruno Génésio was tight-lipped When asked why Tel wasn’t playing in today’s 3-2 pre-season friendly win over Augsburg, telling reporters:

“I don’t need to comment.”

The youngster, who is capable of playing as a winger and as a striker, has made just 10 appearances for Rennes’ first team.

Tel has been a hugely influential player for France’s U17 and U18 national teams, scoring 10 goals in 15 appearances for his country.
