Hamburg will receive a fee of around €6m when Lille sell Amadou Onana, according to Bild. Because the French side were unable to meet HSV’s valuation last summer, both clubs reached an agreement for a higher sell-on clause, reportedly around 20%.
Several clubs have shown interest in signing Onana (20) – Lille rejected an opening offer of €24m from West Ham earlier this month before the Premier League side went back with a second offer of €30m for the Belgium international, which was also rejected.
According to Bild, West Ham are expected to go back with another offer of a fee closer to €38m for Onana, of which Hamburg would receive around €6.2m, but also face competition from Monaco.
Onana played 41 games across all competitions for Lille last season following his €7m move from HSV, scoring three and creating one. During his time at HSV, the Belgian played 26 and scored three.
