La Liga outfit Valencia have this week locked one of the club’s star performers down for an additional season.
The player in question? Diego López.
Wide-man López, for his part, has played a central role for Los Che across the season to date, on his way to 31 appearances across all competitions.
Not only that, but the 21-year-old has proven himself an increasingly decisive figure in the final third, too, on his way to a none-too-shabby haul of four goals and five assists.
Considered a potential star in the making at the Mestalla, all of a Valencia persuasion were in turn no doubt delighted to learn that, as part of his contract renewal last summer, López’s entourage agreed to a clause which would see the Spaniard tied down for an additional season, in the case of appearance-based conditions being met.
And, as alluded to above, this week, this very clause has been activated.
As per an official statement across Los Che’s website and social media platforms:
‘Valencia CF and Diego López have penned a contract extension for the Asturian attacker for one additional season until June 30th, 2027.’
