The transfer of Omar Alderete to La Liga club Getafe will not be happening, according to Steffen Rohr of German footballing magazine Kicker. The 25-year-old central defender has, as per Rohr, cancelled the deal himself in hopes of finding a more prestigious club to represent next season.
Chances that Alderete will remain in Germany’s capital city for the upcoming campaign remain slim. Fredi Bobic and the Hertha administrative team have actively been trying to offload the player for quite some time. Moreover, the Paraguayan has been struggling with abductor issues.
It’s unclear as to whether a larger club will be interested in a player carrying an uncooperative reputation in addition to injuries.
