Inter Milan agree two-year deal with Roma star Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Inter Milan have reportedly reached an agreement to sign AS Roma midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan on a free transfer.

The rumours of the Armenian international moving to San Siro have been circulating over the last few days, with his contract at Stadio Olimpico expiring next month.

Despite the option to extend his contract for another season, Mkhitaryan appears to have opted against it.

Per a report from Corriere dello Sport, Inter have struck an agreement with the 33-year-old on a two-year deal worth €3.5 million.

Mkhitaryan was exceptional for Giallorossi in the 2020/21 season, which eventually saw him extend his stay for another year at the behest of Jose Mourinho – though both shared a bitter rivalry at Manchester United.

The Armenian international continued his fine form this season, racking up five goals and nine assists in all competitions.

Having been out of action since April due to a thigh injury, Mkhitaryan returned to the line-up in the Conference League final against Feyenoord last night but only to be withdrawn after 15 minutes after suffering what looked like a relapse of his injury.

Besides the former Borussia Dortmund star, Inter are also targeting the free transfer of Paulo Dybala, who has officially left Juventus.

The runners-up of Scudetto have identified the Argentine as the ideal strike partner for his compatriot Lautaro Martinez.

Giallorossi, who lifted the Conference League title last night, are also said to be in the race for Dybala, with Mourinho said to be a huge admirer of him.
