Footage stemming from Barcelona’s meeting with Las Palmas on Saturday night has piqued widespread attentions across the club’s fanbase.
This comes after a once-iconic member of the Blaugrana’s defensive ranks was spotted alongside the club’s current stars to have missed out through injury.
The player in question? Gerard Piqué.
The retired Piqué, of course, has not been at all shy in making public his ongoing support for his former employers, since calling time on his career back in November of 2022.
As much comes with the Spaniard remaining a friend of several of the club’s stars and staff alike, not least head coach Xavi Hernández.
A regular attendee at home games, Piqué, in turn, made his way to Montjuïc on Saturday, to watch his ex-club edge past Las Palmas by a goal to nil.
The 37-year-old, though, was not in one of the stadium’s boxes.
Instead, Piqué took his place in the crowd, alongside the sidelined Barcelona quartet of Pedri, Gavi, Andreas Christensen, and Frenkie de Jong.
As showcased in the footage below, he appears to have enjoyed himself, too, having been spotted sharing a joke and a laugh with De Jong and Christensen:
