According to L’Équipe, RC Lens’ newly-appointed head of recruitment Mike Mode is set to leave his role after less than a week in his role at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis. The scout recently joined Les Sang et Ors after spending eight months as director of youth recruitment at Sevilla.
Mike Mode was only appointed in his new role with Lens on Monday. As of Saturday, the French publication reports that the recruitment director has been relieved of his duties with the Ligue 1 club. The 25-year-old was previously an amateur footballer before embarking on his career in football recruitment.
Inaccuracy of his career
The reason for his dismissal is due to the embarrassing situation of his brief career in football recruitment, according to L’Équipe. There appears to have been a mistake made on someone’s behalf that has made Mike Mode the briefest director of recruitment in football history.
