Ilaix Moriba is expected to go out on loan this summer as he doesn’t have a part to play at Leipzig this season, according to Kicker. The 19-year-old joined Leipzig from Barcelona a year ago for €15m plus bonuses.
Having returned from a rather successful loan at Valencia, the central midfielder took part in Leipzig’s training camp in Austria. The Guinea international also scored a goal in a 3:1 win over Southampton during Leipzig’s last test match before heading back to Saxony.
Head coach Domenico Tedesco admitted that Moriba “did very well offensively.” However, with tough competition in the midfield, Leipzig are looking to off-load the youngster again this summer so he can gain more first-team experience elsewhere.
It’s unsure where Moriba’s next loan will be this summer although a return to the Spanish leagues would seem the most obvious choice for the midfielder. The eight-time Guinea international played 14 times in La Liga last season for Valencia.
