After coming on to score a brace against local rivals FC Köln, Robin Hack was naturally disappointed that Gladbach conceded a third goal and had to settle for a draw.

Robin Hack made an immediate impact after coming on as a substitute for Borussia Mönchengladbach against FC Köln on Saturday, scoring twice to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 win in the space of a few minutes.

It looked as if Gladbach would go on to win the game after his second goal, but much to the winger’s frustration, Die Fohlen allowed Damion Downs to level the scores at 3-3 and earn Köln a point in today’s derby.

“It’s really painful to have turned the game around and then still conceded the equaliser. I was ecstatic about my goal to make it 3-2. I don’t know if I’ve ever been that emotional whilst celebrating,” said Hack in a post-match interview.

“I hoped we’d hold on to the lead, but I felt like afterwards we were pushing too hard for another goal. We then lost the ball once or twice and allowed Köln to get back into the game. The Köln player did well for the goal that made it 3-3, but we shouldn’t have let that happen.

“We really wanted to win the derby, but after how the game went, a point is okay.”
