Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi declared Kylian Mbappé (25) to be “The best player in the world” following the Parisians 2-1 victory (Aggregate 4-1) over La Liga outfit Real Sociedad on Tuesday night.

Frenchman Mbappé grabbed both goals in a convincing win which sees Luis Enrique’s side qualify for the Champions League quarter finals for the third time in five seasons, prompting President Al-Khelaifi’s eulogy of him:
” I think Kylian is Kylian. He’s the best player in the world, but the rest of the team also played very well. Kylian scored twice and was magnificent and yes he’s the best in the world for me, it’s true, but everyone played for each other , all eleven players, I think it’s about what we want to build for the future, about what the coach wants too.”
It is widely expected that Mbappé will join Real Madrid upon the expiration of his PSG contract this summer. Indeed, Spanish coach Luis Enrique admitted as much in his post-match interview.
Mbappé will hope to depart on a high note, and with PSG on course for a treble, nine points clear of OGC Nice in Ligue 1 and set for a Coupe de France quarter final with the same opponents, the stage is set for France’s superstar to sign off in style.
