A section of Valencia supporters have made clear their intentions to afford a hostile reception to Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. in the meeting between the clubs tonight.
The name of wide-man Vinícius, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the media chatter in the buildup to Saturday’s Mestalla clash.
The Brazilian international is set to make the return to Valencia for the first time since last season’s infamous events, which saw Vinícius ultimately sent off after being subjected to some of the most vile racial abuse in the recent history of Spanish football.
The Los Che brass, in turn, this week rejected a direct request on the part of Netflix, to film the latest chapter of their documentary surrounding the life of the Real Madrid winger at the club’s ground.
This comes amid efforts to repair the club’s reputation.
As alluded to above, however, such endeavours on the part of those behind the scenes at the Mestalla could yet be ruined, once more, by a small section of Valencia fans.
As much comes with photos having made their way onto social media, of a set of flyers being handed out to the home crowd on Saturday.
The flyers in question feature an image, showcasing Vinícius sporting a long nose, accompanied by the caption ‘Pinochius, I don’t care’ – essentially branding the Real star a liar.
Also included is a clear message to Peter Lim, calling for the controversial Valencia president to step down at once:
