The Newcastle forward was in the right place at the right time to nod Bruno Guimaraes’ deflected shot into the back of Jose Sa’s net.
After a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Arsenal last week and with the club balancing on the edge of the top half, the Magpies would’ve known how important a result against Wolves would be this weekend.
They have got off to the perfect start thanks to a devastating counter-attacking move that carved through the visitor’s defence.
After carrying the ball into the attacking third, Anthony Gordon threaded Guimaraes through into the box with the Brazilian deciding to take the shot on his weaker left foot.
Although the effort was blocked, the ball looped up to the back post where Alexander Isak was waiting to head home.
