Bayern Munich will be without Leroy Sané for their Bundesliga clash against Freiburg tonight, according to Kerry Hau.
Sané is sidelined due to a knee problem, but hopes to be available for the Rekordmeister’s Champions League clash against Lazio on Tuesday, with Bayern currently 1-0 down against their Italian opponents.
The 28-year-old has 19 goal contributions (eight goals and eleven assists) in 23 Bundesliga games this season, but has struggled in 2024 with just three assists in eight league games.

Sané’s form is something that Thomas Tuchel noted during his pre-match press conference.
“I believe that this has to do with the fact that he simply has a lot of aches and pains now, and that is paying tribute to the overload to some extent,” said Tuchel.
Who replaces Leroy Sané?
Mathys Tel (18) has featured in every Bundesliga game for Bayern Munich in 2024, but has only appeared as a substitute. With one assist in eight league games this calendar year, it’s likely that the Frenchman would come into the starting lineup in place of Sané. Bayern remain short in attacking areas with both Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry also sidelined.
A win on Friday will see Bayern Munich move to within five points of Bayer Leverkusen, who travel to neighbouring FC Köln on Sunday afternoon.
