Football presenter Laura Woods has reportedly been going through a personal turmoil away from the TV cameras as it’s emerged that she’s had a stalker sending her threatening messages for the last two years.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, a 25-year-old obsessed Liverpool fan named Harneet Kaur has just been jailed after a lengthy obsessive campaign of hateful messages and personal threats to Woods.
The former talkSPORT host, now with TNT Sports, was sent various messages by Kaur on social media, while a series of slightly bizarre deliveries were also ordered to her home.
This started out innocently enough with some Krispy Kreme donuts, and later some chocolates, but the Mail report that Woods begun to fear for her safety.
Kaur allegedly threatened to kill Woods’ dog, and also told her she wasn’t welcome in Liverpool when it came to attending games there.
The report explains that Kaur suffers from autism, which was put down as a reason for her obsessive behaviour, though a judge ruled that she knew the distress she was causing to Woods.
