AS Monaco manager Adi Hütter has revealed that Wilfried Singo (23) is a doubt to face Toulouse FC on Sunday after the Ivory Coast international suffered a minor hamstring injury whilst at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Singo’s return to the Principality is timely, given that Vanderson is expected to miss two or three weeks of competition through injury. The Brazilian was a surprise absentee from the teamsheet for Monaco’s victory over OGC Nice last Sunday. However, Singo may not be fit to replace the injured Vanderson against Toulouse.
The Ivory Coast defender trained individually on Friday ahead of the match and speaking in a press conference, attended by Get French Football News, Hütter revealed the nature of the injury. Singo felt a hamstring twinge during the AFCON semi-final and the Austrian hypothesised that this may be the reason that he was not utilised during the Ivorian’s triumph over Nigeria in the final. “We are doing everything to allow him to play on Sunday,” said Hütter.
