Bayer Leverkusen haven’t lifted any silverware since the 1992/93 season, when they won the DFB-Pokal.
However, that could change in the coming season, according to Lukas Hradecky, who believes he and his teammates have a real chance of winning something.
“Of course we’re reaching for the first trophy in many years. Not necessarily the Bundesliga title, but maybe another one,” the goalkeeper told Bild.
“What we did in the last second half of the season gave us a good feeling,” added Hradecky.
“I think our squad is strong enough for us to challenge Bayern and Dortmund again and compete for the top places.”
Hradecky and Leverkusen will be playing in the Champions League after finishing third last season.
Leverkusen have never won the Bundesliga, but have finished runners-up five times (96/97, 98/99, 99/00, 01/02, 10/11).
