Mainz are apparently poised to finalize the signing of Nadiem Amiri before the transfer window closes.
According to Sky Germany, the deal is close to completion and Amiri is on his way to Mainz for his medical.
Amiri has seen very limited playing time for Leverkusen this season, playing just 81 minutes in eight Bundesliga games.
With Exequiel Palacios injured and Robert Andrich needed at the back, he made his first league start of the season in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Gladbach.
