Barcelona starlet Fermín López has seen his impressive emergence in Catalunya rewarded in a major way, on Tuesday.
This comes amid confirmation that the midfielder has come to an agreement with the Blaugrana brass, on the terms of a new long-term contract.
The terms of the deal, as per RAC1, will see Fermín tied down through the summer of 2028.
And the good news does not stop there for the talented 20-year-old.
Fermín, it is understood, has also been handed a new jersey number, set to take to the pitch over the weeks and months ahead with 16 emblazoned across his back.
As much confirms the one-time Real Betis youngster’s promotion from academy to first-team player.
An official announcement regarding the news is expected to be forthcoming as early as Wednesday, as Fermín follows the likes of Gavi and Alejandro Balde as the latest La Masia product to make his mark on the senior stage.
