Real Madrid to offer Dani Carvajal one-year contract extension

According to SPORT, Real Madrid are willing to offer Dani Carvajal a one-year contract extension, despite the player recently agreeing to sign until 2025. His consistent performances and dressing room presence are the two driving factors that have influenced the decision of the leaders at Los Blancos.

When his current deal expires, Carvajal will be 34 years old, however, Madrid value him as more than just a team player and are more than satisfied with his contribution. Hence the club’s desire to transmit confidence to the player by offering him one more year.

The Spanish giants are willing to break the typical formula they use with veteran players, who pass the age of 30, as they typically let them leave the club and replace them with younger players who have their prime years ahead of them. Furthermore, the club do not want to wait until the last moment and want to present the contract offer to the player immediately.

Carlo Ancelotti intends to ensure the continuity of the defender, who at the moment has shown he can hold his own at the highest level, while the club look for an investable replacement who in the long term will assume his role at right-back in the starting eleven.
