Chris Führich is said to be on verge of extending his contract with VfB Stuttgart.

According to Bild, the parties are close to a new deal that will see the winger’s annual salary rise from €1.5 million to €2.5 million.

Führich’s new deal will also include a release clause of just over €17 million, according to the report.

The final details are to be finalized today, Monday, with “possible clauses and future eventualities such as participation in the Champions League or Europa League” still being discussed.

Stuttgart are third in the table this season and Führich has played a key role in their rise.

He made his Germany debut under Julian Nagelsmann in October.
