Manchester United‘s situation involving Cristiano Ronaldo is not a good look for the Red Devils, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.
The £27m-rated forward recently expressed his desire to leave United less than 12 months after making a sensational return to Old Trafford.
What’s the latest news involving Ronaldo?
Despite United’s poor sixth-place showing last season, which saw them miss out on Champions League qualification, it was another productive campaign on a personal level for the Portuguese.

Ronaldo scored 24 goals in all competitions, 18 of which came in the Premier League, which helped him earn a place in the PFA Team of the Year.
But United’s failure to finish in the top four has led to the 37-year-old asking to leave the club if they receive a ‘satisfactory’ offer for his services.
If Ronaldo gets his wish, it will leave United without a recognised senior striker at the club after Edinson Cavani was released at the end of his contract.
As a result, Jones reckons that it would be a tough situation for manager Erik ten Hag, who’s less than two weeks into the job.
What did Jones say about Ronaldo?
He told GIVEMESPORT: “It doesn’t look good that Ronaldo is looking to leave at this moment in time, it’s not ideal, especially on the back of not signing [Darwin] Nunez.
“If they’d managed to get Nunez, this might have been okay, but all of a sudden, him going to Liverpool is an even bigger blow because they don’t have that figure to come in and lead the line.”

Does Ronaldo have a right to want to leave?
Ronaldo’s announcement might leave some United supporters with a bitter taste, given he’s one of their best players in modern history.
But his decision can hardly be questioned. Despite heading towards the final years of his career, he did his job by scoring more than 30 per cent of the club’s goals last season, and had some of his teammates performed at a similar level then United might have qualified for the Champions League.
The report from the Guardian says that Ronaldo believes he has another three or four years playing at the top level, so he can hardly be blamed for wanting to spend them challenging for major honours, something that is unlikely to happen at Old Trafford right now.
